Troop 1083 - Cost & Financial Resources

Cost

During registration and at annual renewal, families pay online registration fees for:

National Dues: $89.95 / Scout & $66.95 / Adult*
Council Dues (NCAC): $80 / Scout

* Only registered adult volunteers (e.g., leaders, committee members, campers) pay this fee. Adults serving in an active unit position (Charter Rep, Scoutmaster, Committee Member, Merit Badge Counselor) are eligible for reimbursement.

Additional:

We camp monthly throughout the year and there is a $15 fee per camper per trip. Families pay directly to troop 1-2 weeks ahead of campout. This fee covers food while the troop covers site fees and miscellaneous supplies e.g. firewood and propane.
Summer camp - every year, we attend a week long (optional but highly encouraged) scout camp. The fee changes year to year but fundraising and financial support are available.
Uniform & Gear - Scouts are required to wear a Class A uniform and provide their own camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc)
One time fee: Scout book

We are committed to ensuring that no scout is excluded due to cost. If your family needs support, or if you want to reduce expenses, here are some options:

🆘 Financial Assistance

NCAC Financial Aid: The National Capital Area Council provides assistance for families who need help covering council fees (as well as summer camp). ⚠️ It’s important that families apply for this before paying dues as, once paid, they are non-refundable. ➤ Apply here

Del-Mar-Va offers a campership for help with Camp Rodney tuition. The Financial Assistance Application – is due April 1st. Please note that notification will be by email.

✅ Troop Support

Payment Plans or Reimbursement: If upfront costs are a challenge, we can reimburse membership fees and set up a payment schedule.

Uniform Assistance: We have some donated class A shirts in the troop trailer - ask if we have your scout’s size!

Potential Refund: If fundraising (e.g., mulch sale) exceeds goals, the troop may provide partial or full reimbursement. Decisions will be made after mulch proceeds are finalized in March.
