Who We Are
Who We Are
Troop 1083 is a youth-led Scouts BSA troop made up of Troop 1083B (boys) and Troop 1083G (girls), offering opportunities for youth ages 11–17 to develop confidence, leadership, and a spirit of service. For over 50 years, we’ve served the youth of Montgomery County and are proud to have guided more than 80 Scouts to the rank of Eagle Scout. In fact, over half of the Scouts who stay active in our program achieve this distinguished honor.
We are also home to Cub Scout Pack 1081, which welcomes younger Scouts in grades K–5 — all part of the Troop 1083 Scouting family.
We believe Scouting should be inclusive and welcoming to all, and we actively work to create an environment where Scouts of every gender and background feel empowered to lead, grow, and thrive. Our mission is to help young people develop into empathetic, responsible adults who value community, diversity, and service.
Our chartering organization is the Randolph Civic Foundation.

Why Join Scouting?
Scouting is about growing through experience—and having a great time doing it. At Troop 1083, your Scout will gain:
🛶 Adventure & Challenge: From building fires and pitching tents to planning entire weekend trips, Scouts push their boundaries in a supportive environment.
💡 Life Skills: Scouts learn everything from first aid and emergency readiness to personal finance and communication.
🧭 Leadership & Responsibility :Our youth-led model gives Scouts real responsibility with adult guidance. Older Scouts mentor younger ones, fostering leadership and accountability.
